Beards and Booty is a Pirate-themed, Print and Play, Dice Combat game of luck and skill! A game for 2-4 players, with a choice of 6 fantastic characters all inspired by the Golden Age of Piracy!

Choose from Pirate legends such as Blackbeard, Bonny, Shih, and Caesar – or the less well-known Fillayo Fish and Swash Buckley!
Each character has unique skills to use. When you’ve enough gold to spend you can play one of your skills, skills such as doubling your rewards, changing your dice, or stealing your opponent’s gold for yourself!

Choose to print in full colour or low ink, using your home printer. You can also play on a computer or tablet to save printing it out. The low-ink versions make for great colouring-in pages as well!
What do I need to play?
Included in the files you will receive:
- 2 x Player Sheets – Blackbeard and Ching Shih (in the full version there will be 6 unique characters to play).
- The Code – the rulebook and play guide for Beards and Booty
Each Pirate will require one Play Sheet, two markers* – one for Reputation and one for Gold – and 5 Dice. If you don’t have enough dice for each player, you can always pass the 5 dice to the player whose turn it is.
*In true pirate fashion, you can use whatever you have to hand/ hiding at the bottom of your pocket for your markers.
How many players is it for?
Beards and Booty is a game for 2-4 players. You can certainly play with more people – as many as you like – but the more players you add, the longer you will be waiting or your turn to come back around!
Due to the amount to read and the level of tactical play, I recommend that this is for players around 8 and over and games usually last around 10-15 minutes for two players.
Is each character different?
Every character is unique. While they have similar dice patterns to match, each Player sheet has different dice faces in their patterns and their own skills.
I recommend trying each character and seeing which one matches your playing style!
All 6 characters will be included in the full game, while only 2 are currently added to the current version as this is for testing purposes only.
What are Skills?
As a Pirate you need your wits, cunning and unique Skills to not only survive, but to rise above the crew and achieve glory and fame!
In Beards and Booty, each character has three skills at the bottom of their Player Sheet. To use these skills on any of their turns, a player must first gain an amount of gold as reward for matching one of the more challenging patterns.
Skills range in power and cost. For example, a simple skill – such as re-rolling one of your dice a fourth time instead of the usual three – will only cost you one piece of gold. However, taking all of the gold from your opponent will cost you three pieces of gold!
I recommend trying out all of the characters and their skills to see which one suits your style of play.
How much does the game cost?
The game is currently free to test out and is why you will only get two of the six characters to download and play.
Beards and Booty will soon be on Kickstarter and cost $5 to get the full game and any future updates and translations!
